The new 2011 Sierra HD underpins the concept, which is shorter in overall length than production Sierra HD models. The concept gets an enhanced suspension, increased ground clearance and a wider track.
The concept gets a unique 5-foot, 8-inch crew cab/short box body style. Other details include front and rear jounce shocks, and 35-inch BFGoodrich "mud terrain" tires mounted on 20-inch machined aluminum wheels. The streamlined bumpers have a practical bent and are designed to enhance approach and departure angles.
The concept has an Iridium Metallic paint job. It is a dark charcoal color with a reddish tint. The cabin gets stainless-steel mesh and satin chrome trim and a new navigation radio that GMC says "previews future radios to be offered in GMC vehicles." It provides greater storage of music from portable devices and features a "time-lapse playback," which allows up to 20 minutes of recording/playback from the AM/FM/XM stations.
